  • Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for the day to day maintenance and troubleshooting of different industrial machines.  This person will need to be a quick learner and show their mechanical understanding and skills to assist with production and minimize machine downtime.  Will work in a team environment and will need to communicate with operators to resolve issue.  This person has also knowledge with pneumatics systems and able to make measured adjustments.

    DESCRIPTION

    • Ensure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plant
    • Works with Safety first, understands and follows all Safety procedures, wears PPE and meets training requirements.
    • Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
    • Inspect machines, engines, etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
    • Familiar with pneumatics automation, transmitters, control valves, flow/level/pressure/temperature switches
    • Troubleshoot downtime in support to production and meet standards
    • Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
    • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
    • Know about sensors, actuators, transducers, temperature controllers, VFD’s and transmitters used with Electro-Mechanical machine controllers
    • Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
    • Must work in a team environment to find solutions and
    • Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy
    • Keep all areas clean and follow 5S housekeeping
    • Follows housekeeping standards
    • Conduct other duties as assigned by management

    COMPETENCIES

    • Strong mathematical skills, understands metric system and conversions.
    • Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
    • Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
    • A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
    • Very good communication skills and problem-solving ability
    • Dependable and Punctual
    • Ability to be organized, multitask and keep up in a fast-paced environment
    • Familiar and understands FSSC 22000:2005 and ISO 9001

    EXPERIENCE

    • Preferred experience in mechatronics, robotics and hydraulic systems
    • Minimum 3 years of industrial mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Preferred Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
