MISSION: As a Data Architect on the Analytics team, you will manage the design, implementation, adoption and scaling of data infrastructure for Fivetran's internal analytics.

YOUR SUPERPOWERS:

• TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:

  • Expert in SQL, ETL/ELT, data modeling / transformation, data collection and instrumentation, cloud data warehouse, and visualization/reporting
  • Experience handling high-volume data in a cloud-based production environment
  • Deeply understand existing and new technology trends (i.e. data management and data governance), and work with partners to review and recommend innovative and efficient solutions
  • Passionate about data, analytics and automation with experience cleaning and modeling large quantities of raw, disorganized data
  • Creator of reproducible and extensible work

• DATA STRATEGY: Ability to gather and translate technical and business requirements into concrete solutions

• LEADERSHIP: Comfortable influencing and educating teammates and users to drive exceptional data experiences across the entire organization

• COMMUNICATION SKILL: Excellent verbal, written, and in-person communication skills to discuss complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences  

• PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Highly organized and has strong project management skills 

• CHARACTERISTICS: 

• Ability to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced start-up environments; has rich experience scaling up start-ups and transitioning into a larger company

• Proactive, self-aware, and empathetic communicator

• Team player with a passion for being an inclusive teammate and involved member of the data community and help analyst grow 

• Passion for building data products that are simple and easy to use 

• Ability to tackle problems independently and prioritize work based on the anticipated business value

• Strong attention to detail

• Honest, always does the right thing even if it is hard, and values constructive criticism

NICE TO HAVES:

• Rich experience in data architecture, data engineering, software engineering / DevOps, or consulting in data operations, analytics, or BI
• Deep experience with a number of data tools: e.g. SQL, Fivetran, dbt, Python, BigQuery,Looker, Sigma
• Experience with Dimensional Modeling (Star schema vs Snowflake, OLAP cube, Kimball etc.)
• A firm understanding of and ability to discuss modern data warehousing architectures 
• Familiar with agile methodologies
