As a Software Engineer at Fixer.com you will be responsible for building and maintaining products for a variety of users across our entire tech stack. You will work closely with product designers, analysts, and end users to understand pain points and find the most effective way to address those with technology.

Our software meets many needs. Most importantly, the products we build bridge gaps between our users. These products ensure that customers, fixers, and the customer service team all have a shared understanding of the work being done in customer homes. Our products are tightly woven into the daily operations of Fixer.com. Automated communications and reminders, schedule management, real-time and historical reports, financial systems, integration with third parties — we cover a lot of ground with a small team.

We work quickly. Our team plans work in weekly sprints and we deploy software multiple times a day. We collaborate over a variety of channels and actively eliminate meetings that aren't serving our needs. We've accomplished a lot in a short period of time with a small team. Now, as Fixer.com is entering a dynamic growth phase, we're looking for another team member to help us blast Fixer.com into the future. We're looking for a team member with a passion for building great products for great users, someone who is both a teacher and a learner, and someone who buys into Fixer.com's mission to make the world a better place.

As a Software Engineer you will:

• Build and enhance web and mobile products
• Write full-stack code — from our Postgres database through Spring Boot/Kotlin API layer to our React and React Native user interfaces
• Participate in code review — share best practices and maintain steady pressure on quality
• Plan, estimate, and execute projects. Most of our projects are relatively rapid (a month or less)
• Share responsibility for the technical health and longevity of our systems
• Provide ad-hoc data analysis and reporting for a variety of stakeholders

We are picky about finding great teammates. We've listed below the skills and qualities we think are important to succeed on the Fixer tech team. That said, we have seen people from a wide range of backgrounds be successful. If you think you have what it takes to succeed at Fixer but don't meet all of the below - please get in touch.

1. 1 to 4 years of experience building software products for users
2. Proficiency working with Java, Kotlin, and/or Javascript. If you don't know these languages, we can teach you.
3. Ability to work independently paired with the wisdom of knowing when to ask for help
4. Excellent attention to detail
5. Excellent communication skills
6. Experience working with relational databases
7. Experience building mobile applications a plus
8. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
