SUMMARY:
In this role at Flavor Insights, the Regulatory Document Specialist will perform a variety of tasks and procedures related to documentation for raw materials and finished product specifications for flavors. This role serves as the intermediary between R&D, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Sales to assist to manage the various types of supporting documentation required for raw materials and in the commercialization of finished flavors. This role requires a bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead documentation procurement and data entry activities for all new flavor raw materials into various software systems.
- Review and ensure that raw material documentation (Product Specifications, Nutritional Information, Allergen Statements, GMO, Kosher, etc.) are accurate and up to date.
- Generate official technical documents for new and existing flavor products including Product Data Sheets, Safety Data Sheets, Nutritional Statements, Kosher Certificates and Allergen Statements.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality, manufacturing, purchasing, marketing and maintain good communication with external suppliers.
- Create, update, and review all Finished Product Specifications and other types of documentation (i.e. Allergen Statements, Non-GMO, Vegan, etc.)
- Produce Nutrition/Supplement Facts panels using ESHA Genesis.
- Understands the cGMP requirements for 21 CFR 111 and ensure compliance to state and federal agency requirements.
- Provide support in ensuring cGMP compliance.
- Manages the digital record keeping of documents for the Technical Services department as well as other related company documents.
- Perform other Technical Services related assignments as needed.
COMPETENCIES
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Familiarity with ESHA Genesis preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both orally and written.
- Experience working directly with customers and suppliers
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field preferred
- Experience in the Flavor Manufacturing and/or Food Manufacturing industry preferred
- In lieu of degree, 2 years of related experience in Quality Assurance, Product Development, or Technical Services (i.e. regulatory affairs, labeling, product specification, Kosher, etc.) within the Flavor and/or Food industry
- Experience related to ingredient documentation, finished product specifications, nutritional facts/supplement facts, product development, and FDA compliance regulations (21 CFR 101, 111, etc.) and DSHEA preferred.
- Familiarity with food law, regulations and claims
