Senior Software Engineer - SMB Platform Team
- Implement monitoring and tooling to rapidly identify, root-cause, and remediate problems that occur in a distributed microservice cloud-based environment
- Collaborate with engineers in different product areas to help them understand and implement good reliability practices, and to develop effective incident response solutions
- Set and enforce standards around end-to-end monitoring and alerting on critical systems
- Automate routine tasks and build infrastructure and tools to enable automatic incident remediation
- Be a steward of our deployment environments by providing on-call support, incident response, collaborative debugging, and continuous learning
Who You Are
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Demonstrated working knowledge of CS fundamentals including OS, Networking, Data Structures, Algorithms, Concurrency, and Distributed Systems
- Enjoy deep forensic analysis of system failures to understand their cause and contributing factors
- 5+ years of professional experience in reliability engineering, software engineering, or systems engineering; blend of interests in both software and systems engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in managing and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment
- Ability to review and author code in Java, Kotlin, Python, or a similar language
- Experience with cloud deployment technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
- Experience with monitoring and observability solutions like Datadog and Sentry
