Full-Time Fleet Diesel Mechanic – Join Pittsburgh Transportation Group!

Pittsburgh Transportation is seeking an experienced, full-time Fleet Diesel Mechanic to perform daily maintenance and repairs on our fleet of company vehicles. This position is Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. A Pennsylvania CDL license, State Inspection License, and the ability to pass a DOT physical are required.

Position Overview of a Fleet Diesel Mechanic:

As a Fleet Diesel Mechanic , you will be responsible for performing interior and exterior repairs, services, and maintenance on our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are safe and reliable for operation.

Key Responsibilities of a Fleet Diesel Mechanic:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication.
• Inspect and adjust protective guards, belts, and safety devices on vehicles.
• Examine brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other critical components for proper functioning.
• Conduct timely vehicle inspections and services.
• Complete necessary repairs on fleet vehicles.
• Oversee vehicle recovery when applicable.
• Perform road tests to diagnose and address vehicle issues.
• Ensure that vehicle updates are made according to specifications.
• Maintain tools and workspace, ensuring the shop remains neat and organized.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications of a Fleet Diesel Mechanic:

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a CDL mechanic role (preferred).
• Skills & Abilities: * Basic computer proficiency.

Certifications & Licenses:

• CDL License (required)
• State Inspection License (required)
• ASE certifications (preferred)
