    Job Description

    Alston Transportation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fleet Helper to support our delivery fleet's daily operations. This part-time role is ideal for a self-starter with strong organizational skills , mechanical aptitude, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

    The ideal candidate takes initiative, follows instructions precisely, and
    demonstrates excellent time management.
    This position reports to the Fleet Manager and may be required to step in as needed.

    Compensation: $20.00/hr

    Shift Time(s): Evening and weekends

    Key Responsibilities:
    -Daily Vehicle Inspections – Conduct thorough inspections to assess vehicle condition and report damages to the Fleet Manager.

    • **Fleet Maintenance & Cleaning **– Clean both the interior and exterior of 31+ delivery vans, including washing, trash removal, sweeping, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
    • Vehicle Transport & Recovery – Assist in transporting vans to repair shops and retrieving vehicles that have been damaged while in service.
      -Incident Investigations – Support the Fleet Manager in investigating vehicle damage to determine causes and responsibility.
      **-Damage Reporting & Documentation – **Maintain an accurate daily log of vehicle issues and damages to ensure fleet integrity.

    What You’ll Need as a Fleet Helper

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be at least 23 years old.
    • Strong self-motivation with the ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow strict procedures.
    • Excellent time management skills to meet daily fleet operational deadlines.
    • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Must pass a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
    • Pass Pre-Employement Drug Test.
    • Personal cell phone required for communication during work shifts.
    • Knowledge of electric vehicles (preferred but not required).
