    Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles, including cars, trucks, vans, and specialized equipment. You will utilize your mechanical expertise and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our fleet.

    Responsibilities: - Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including fluid and filter changes, tire rotations, and inspections, to ensure optimal performance of vehicles and equipment - Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using various diagnostic tools and equipment - Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements - Repair and replace defective parts, systems, and components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines - Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including documenting parts usage and labor hours

    -Research pricing for needed maintenance items & parts to procure at advantageous pricing

    - Coordinate with other team members, including drivers and other mechanics, to schedule repairs and prioritize work orders based on operational needs - Monitor vehicle performance and conduct road tests as needed to verify repairs and identify additional problems - Provide timely response and support for vehicle breakdowns and emergencies, both onsite and offsite, to minimize downtime and ensure fleet availability - Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in vehicle technologies through continuous learning and training opportunities - Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others

    -Responsible for training new employees in safety measures regarding vehicles and equipment assigned

    -Assist with building and parking lot maintenance as needed including snow removal

    Qualifications:

    - High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified automotive or diesel technology program is preferred - Proven experience as a Fleet Mechanic or similar role, with a strong understanding of vehicle diagnostic procedures and repair techniques - Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, including scan tools, computerized systems, and specialized tools - Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and familiarity with various vehicle makes and models - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues accurately and efficiently - Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to vehicle repair and maintenance - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - Physical stamina and dexterity to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions

    Working Environment/Safety Requirements:

    • Position is situated in a vehicle repair environment. Exposure to varying temperatures but primarily in a garage setting. Will be exposed to various chemicals and fumes associated with vehicle maintenance.

    Education: High School Diploma or GED; VO – Tech Graduate; Associates degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent on the job training or Military Training.
