    Lead Fleet Technician

    Are you an experienced Fleet, Diesel, Heavy Equipment, or Automotive Technician looking for a stable, long-term career with a family-owned company?

    We are partnering with a 65-year-old, established irrigation and landscaping company seeking a skilled Lead Fleet Mechanic to keep its fleet of gas and diesel trucks, trailers, pickups, and landscaping equipment operating safely and efficiently.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on mechanic who enjoys diagnosing problems, performing repairs, preventing equipment downtime, and taking ownership of fleet maintenance.

    What You'll Do

    Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas and diesel trucks, trailers, pickups, and landscaping equipment

    Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and major mechanical repairs

    Troubleshoot and repair engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and drivetrains

    Use scan tools, diagnostic software, and computerized equipment to identify mechanical issues

    Perform routine fleet maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime

    Maintain accurate maintenance and service records

    Perform or obtain certification to perform New York State vehicle inspections

    Help ensure the company's fleet and equipment remain safe, reliable, and operational

    What We're Looking For

    5+ years of professional mechanical experience as a Fleet Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, or similar

    Strong mechanical diagnosis and troubleshooting skills

    Experience working with both gas and diesel engines

    Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, and drivetrain systems

    Experience using scan tools and computerized diagnostic equipment

    NYS Inspector Certification preferred, or willingness to obtain

    ASE Certifications are a plus

    Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and take ownership of fleet maintenance

    Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
