Job Description
As a Payroll Analyst II, you are responsible for the input of timesheets for weekly payroll and assisting with the processing of late hours and retro payments for missing timesheets. Additionally, you will also support ongoing systems testing and IT projects related to the payroll software used at FlexCare.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Validation of payroll timesheet input and interpretation both for weekly payroll and prior payroll periods.
- Accurate data entry of timesheets and other data into QuickBooks.
- Approve and reconcile time in client portals.
- Reconcile payroll transactions using various pre-established reports.
- Resolve discrepancies and disputes related to timesheet and payroll problems.
- Process payroll adjustments and exceptions to payroll.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with others as required as well as responding to questions in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform frequent audits of payroll prior to processing to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct report generation from various software programs such as QuickBooks, Paycom, Salesforce, PeopleFluent, ShiftWise, etc.
- Assist with payroll file storage management.
- Cross-train with other members of the Payroll Team to provide back-up.
- Train new and existing staff on new software enhancements.
- Research and recommend the upgrading of existing software applications or hardware systems as needed for desired performance and operations.
- Develop training materials for in-house courses and recommend off-site trainings for staff when applicable.
- Coordinate seminars to introduce new technologies to members and/or to promote awareness of them.
- Prepare miscellaneous proposals, plans, and reports to meet deliverable requirements.
- Ability to run external payrolls if necessary.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Possess high accuracy in data entry and be proficient, at minimum with QuickBooks.
- Possess a customer and client focused attitude.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as effective interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to new or changing processes quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all departments as well as function independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and propose paths to solutions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data integrity in compliance with company policies.
- Ability to build and maintain credible relationships.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree (or higher) or equivalent/relevant experience in Accounting/Payroll.
- Intermediate to advanced skill level in Access and Excel required.
- Experience with Salesforce a plus.
