    JOB DESCRIPTION:
    We are a private technology company that designs, develops and operates space camera systems. We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to become a part of our innovative team. Under general direction of the Production Manager, provides Camera Systems Group procurement support in the areas of RFQs, purchase requests/orders, parts requirement planning, cycle counts and receipt and inspection activities.

     

    Essential Functions

    Supports Camera Systems Group procurement. In connection with this activity, submits RFQs to suppliers, drafts PRs in our ERP system and submits to Production Manager for approval.
    Assists Production Manager with parts requirement planning. In connection with this activity organizes and schedules procurements in a timely manner.
    Communicates with vendors, accounting, and production management to ensure deadlines are met.
    Creates reports and answers questions about shipments, inventory and cycle counts.
    Leads inventory cycle counts in stockroom and assists in investigation of discrepancies with production management.
    Receipt and inspection of purchases. Verifies incoming shipments in accordance with POs and dispatches to appropriate person/place.
    May assist in communication with suppliers, obtain prices, follow up on missing items, payment problems and other issues.
    Works with technical staff, engineers and production management to optimize assembly and stockroom space utilization and to continuously improve flight hardware handling and safety.

    Non-Essential Functions
    May perform routine administrative tasks for department and other duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Degree in procurement, business, finance or related field.
    2-5 years of previous experience in procurement or purchasing.
    Experience in industry procedures, costs and terms.
    Basic mathematical knowledge.
    Proficient computer skills; including MRP software and Excel.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    Good time management and organizational skills.

     

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to comprehend and communicate clearly with a variety of people on a daily basis. Must be able to remain in a stationary position while operating a computer for prolonged periods of time. Ability to work and move around in a cleanroom environment, wearing required outer garments including smock/coveralls, shoe covers, mask, hood and gloves. Moves in and around a lab space. Ability to handle stressful deadlines from time to time. Strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload.
