    Primary Position Objectives


    Responsible for assisting with coordination of appropriate classroom activities (as defined by the national association for the education of young children - NAEYC) for a designated age group of children that fosters cognitive, self-help, social/emotional, language, and physical development with consideration given to individual children's cultural and socio-economic background, in compliance with government and management directives.

    Please be advised that as of now our Child Development Center is not open and applicants will be reviewed and offer positions in other departments such as Residential Advisors, Maintenance and or other vacant areas.


    Brief Description of Duties


    • Assist the Lead Teacher with implementing for an assigned group of children a program that provides quality care, nurturing and education for the group and the individual child.
    • Participate in discussions with the parents regarding issues relating to the child through daily contact, newsletter, notes, and other means.
    • Assist with quarterly group parent meetings and individual parent/teacher conferences annually, or as needed, to keep parents informed of classroom adjustment and behavior.
    • Maintain accountability of children and property; adhere to safety practices.
    • Acclimates and understands the Lead Teacher’s routine for childcare procedures.
    • Prepare and serve food in accordance with health and safety regulations.
    • Monitor behavior of children and oversee activities.
    • Works towards meeting performance standard goals.
    • Follows CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
    • Adheres to required property control policies and procedures.
    • Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
    • Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
    • Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
    • Demonstrates and abides by Serrato Corporation’s core values and operating principles.
    • Models, mentors, monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
    • Participation in PRH mandated staff training is mandatory. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel.
    • Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, ans basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
    • Ability to relate to young children and maintain good relationships with parents.
    • Basic understanding of child behavior and knowledge child development.
    • High level of energy, patience, and proper communication with working with children.

    Experience


    One-year experience working with young children. One-year teaching experience working with preschool children (birth to age 8) in structured group situations with preference given to those with some formal training in the early childhood education field.


    Education


    High School Diploma or equivalent required. CDA Credential.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations


    Valid State Driver’s License.
