    Position Summary The Floating Universal Banker is responsible for deepening customer relationships, attracting additional customers, and delivering exceptional customer service while providing full-time branch coverage across the Medford and Owen locations.

    This position serves as a flexible, multi-branch resource and is expected to adapt quickly to different branch environments, teams, and customer needs. The Floating Universal Banker supports overall branch operations through teller services, deposit account support, sales activities, and customer problem resolution.

    This role is primarily responsible for assisting with opening new deposit accounts, selling additional products to customers and prospects, and supporting the overall sales efforts of the bank. Duties include teller transactions, account maintenance, and opening and closing safe deposit boxes.

    The Floating Universal Banker will also complete sales activities designed to attract new customers, including originating customer and prospect correspondence, soliciting banking relationships, developing prospect lists, and other duties as requested by branch leadership.

    Duties and Responsibilities Deposit Accounts

    Assist walk-in customers with new account needs, including checking, savings, certificates, and IRAs, serving as backup to the Relationship Banker as needed.

    Demonstrate a strong understanding of bank products and clearly explain their value to customers.

    Assist walk-in and phone customers with account-related service issues or problem resolution.

    Perform sales, cross-selling, and referrals to meet established production goals.

    Support product promotions introduced throughout the year.

    Proactively contact customers by phone to solicit account relationships when needed.

    Customer Service

    Perform paying and receiving functions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.

    Sell cashier’s checks, money orders, gift cards, and assist with related services.

    Understand and comply with all applicable laws and compliance regulations related to teller duties, including Bank Secrecy Act, privacy regulations, and funds availability policies.

    Deliver a high level of customer service by identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate products and solutions.

    Support customers with account maintenance, including address changes, check orders, and related requests.

    Promote and support electronic delivery channels, including online and mobile banking.

    Comfortably utilize and troubleshoot common questions related to digital banking products.

    Sales

    Support overall branch sales efforts and assist in meeting individual and branch sales goals.

    Participate in retail product campaigns initiated by the bank.

    Maintain awareness of the bank’s full product offering to effectively refer customers to appropriate departments.

    Floating Responsibilities

    Provide consistent coverage and support at both the Medford and Owen branch locations based on business needs.

    Adapt quickly to varying branch procedures, staffing models, and customer volumes.

    Maintain strong communication with branch leadership to ensure seamless coverage and service continuity.

    Serve as a reliable and flexible team member across locations.

    Other

    Assist with other bank activities as requested as part of the overall bank team.

    Maintain active involvement in the community.

    Follow all bank policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state banking regulations.

    Comply with bank standards for attendance, punctuality, and work schedules.

    Qualifications Education / Experience

    High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Two to three years of customer service or teller experience preferred.

    Proficiency with computer systems, office equipment, and standard office software.

    Ability to accurately count and handle cash.

    Travel

    Valid driver’s license required.

    Regular travel between Medford and Owen branch locations is required, as well as occasional travel to training sessions, meetings, and community events.
