    Job Summary

    As a Retail Sales Associate / Cashier, you'll help customers find the right products, solve home improvement problems, and create an exceptional shopping experience.

    You'll work throughout the store assisting customers, stocking merchandise, operating the register, learning product knowledge, and supporting your fellow Associates.

    No two days are exactly alike, which makes every day rewarding.

    Work Schedule (Full-Time: 40-50 hours per week)

    6:00-3:00 (Varies depending on product delivery)

    7:30-4:30

    9:30-6:30

    Schedule includes five days per week, including at least one weekend day

    What You'll Do

    Customer Service

    Welcome every customer with a friendly, helpful attitude.

    Help customers select products for home improvement projects.

    Recommend practical solutions.

    Build relationships that encourage customers to return.

    Deliver the exceptional service Vermont Outlet is known for.

    Sales

    Learn product knowledge throughout the store.

    Recommend complementary products.

    Assist customers with hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical, tools, fasteners, lawn & garden, and building materials.

    Support store sales goals.

    Store Operations

    Stock shelves.

    Receive shipments.

    Build displays.

    Operate the POS register.

    Help maintain a clean, organized store.

    Teamwork

    Work independently.

    Support fellow Associates.

    Share ideas for improving the business.

    Contribute to a positive work environment.

    What We're Looking For

    We're looking for someone who:

    Enjoys helping people.

    Has outstanding customer service skills.

    Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

    Is dependable and punctual.

    Wants to learn something new every day.

    Can work 40-50 hours per week, including one weekend day.

    Has basic math skills and can read a tape measure.

    Has basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and point-of-sale systems.

    Has a high school diploma or equivalent, or comparable work experience.

    Has experience in retail, hardware, construction, or building materials (preferred).

    Has military experience (valued and considered when determining starting pay)

    Physical Requirements Must be able to:

    Stand and walk for extended periods.

    Lift to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Bend, reach, squat, and stock merchandise.

    Safely move products throughout the store.
