Floor Coverings International Graphic Designer Intern is key to the growth of Floor Coverings International of Austin. A successful social media intern will be pivotal in facilitating the increase in brand awareness of Floor Coverings International of Austin, increase in appointments booked, proposals written by design associates, and sales landed.

This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of graphic design. The intern hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills in order to integrate into our vibrant and passionate team, who are very excited to share this launch with an intern hoping to gain extensive online experience

Responsibilities

· Create and design print and digital materials

· Adhere to brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadline

· Retouch and manipulate images

· Use graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media

· Collaborate with the Creative Director and Graphic Design Manager to develop design concepts

· Receive feedback from the Creative Director and Graphic Design Manager and make necessary changes

· Assemble final presentation material for printing as needed

· Seek and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials both on and offline

· Provide support to social media efforts

Continuous Improvement

· Attend weekly meeting with Franchise Owner at scheduled time

· Submit MIS Prep form weekly

· Work weekly and monthly to meet goals

· Be available to attend training seminars at owner’s discretion

· Make decisions and act in accordance with Floor Coverings Internationals core values and mission

Requirements

· Undergraduate student in Austin, Texas area majoring in Graphic Design or Marketing

· Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals

· Experience with InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator

· Compelling portfolio of graphic design work

· Energetic and creative

· Hard-working and team-oriented

· Strong creative and analytical skills

· Organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task

· Strong values – personally and professionally

· Able to work independently without supervision
