Job Summary:
The Floor Inspector is responsible for inspecting guest rooms, surrounding corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness, quality, and overall appearance meet company and brand standards. This position will perform inspection duties 2–3 days per week. On days when inspections are not scheduled, the Floor Inspector will actively assist the housekeeping team by cleaning guest rooms as assigned. The Floor Inspector is also expected to be courteous, pleasant, and responsive to guest needs and requests to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to all Zenith Management Company standards and housekeeping procedures
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and surrounding corridors 2–3 days per week for cleanliness, condition, and overall appearance
On non-inspection days, perform standard housekeeping duties, including cleaning guest rooms according to company and brand standards
Inspect bed and bathroom linens for cleanliness and condition; remove any items not meeting Marriott Brand Housekeeping standards
Report any equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or room deficiencies to the Building Manager or Housekeeping Executive
Inspect all check-out rooms to confirm guest departure and assess overall room condition
Verify vacant rooms to ensure accuracy and report any unexpected vacant rooms to the Building Manager or Housekeeping Executive
Update room status in the computer system to Vacant Ready once rooms are completed and inspected
Assist Housekeepers as needed to support daily operations and occupancy demands
Inspect housekeeping closets for cleanliness and organization; remove unnecessary or misplaced items
Maintain knowledge of fire alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, and evacuation procedures
Maintain MSDS training and complete the Webfire program
Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Executive or Building Manager to support hotel operations and guest service
Maintain confidentiality of company business, including financial information, guest data, and employee matters
Qualifications:
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to work the majority of the shift standing, with continuous movement, and lift up to 30 pounds
Strong guest service skills and a customer-focused mindset
Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and coworkers
