    Position Overview

Our healthcare center is hiring a Floor Manager to run day-to-day operations for a high-volume Dental Department. You’ll be the on-the-floor leader ensuring smooth patient flow, provider utilization, service excellence, and compliance. This role partners closely with front desk, sterilization, radiology, billing, and department leadership.

Required: Prior healthcare management experience (dental, ambulatory clinic, or similar).
Not a fit without healthcare leadership exposure.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own the floor each shift: lead huddles, set assignments, manage breaks/coverage, and resolve real-time issues.

    • Patient flow & access: minimize wait times, ensure on-time rooming, optimize chair turnover, and manage add-ons/urgent cases.

    • Provider utilization: monitor schedule fill rate, no-shows/cancellations, and same-day recovery; escalate barriers quickly.

    • Service standards: model professional, polished communication; handle patient escalations and service recovery.

    • Compliance & safety: uphold HIPAA, OSHA/CDC infection control, sterilization workflows, radiography logs, and incident reporting.

    • Front desk coordination: ensure accurate check-in/out, eligibility/pre-auth support, and end-of-day reconciliation.

    • Team leadership: coach real-time performance, reinforce SOPs, document feedback, and partner on scheduling/attendance.

    • Daily reporting: track KPIs (wait times, chair turnover, utilization, fill rate, incidents) and deliver a concise EOD update to leadership.

    Qualifications & Must-Haves

    • 3+ years healthcare management (dental preferred; outpatient/ambulatory acceptable) with direct supervision of frontline staff.

    • Polished, professional presence—excellent verbal/written communication; calm, confident under pressure; discreet and composed with patients and clinicians.

    • Strong operations acumen: queue management, schedule optimization, and on-the-floor problem solving.

    • Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA/CDC infection control, sterilization workflows; familiarity with OpenDental/Dentrix/Eaglesoft or similar.

    • Organized and data-aware: comfortable using dashboards/spreadsheets to monitor KPIs and drive actions.

    • Flexible availability, including Sundays and occasional extended hours as needed.

    • Nice to have: dental terminology/ADA codes, insurance eligibility/pre-auth experience; CPR/BLS; multilingual skills.
