    Job Description

    Florawest Inc. is a grower shipper of fresh cut flowers based in Vista California. We have been in business for 35 years and we are consider one of the largest flower growers in California. We are looking for the right person who can be fluid with multi tasking, independent and can take initiative with minimal to no supervision. We offer 40 + hours per week along with 5 paid sick days per year, paid vacation and Binational health insurance, dental insurance and vision coverage.  

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION Office Generalist

    Fluent in Spanish preferred Supervisor: General Manager / HR director

    Terms of Employment: At Will Position Status: Full time Hourly Rate: Based on experience and qualifications

    *Position Objective: The Office Generalist performs a variety of accounting clerical tasks along with general office duties related to the maintenance/processing of accounts payable and receivables records. This position provides clerical support to the finance department.

     

    *Duties and Responsibilities: Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Accounts Payable and Receivables Duties § Prepares and processes all AP and AR accounting tasks. § Receives and verifies invoices and requisitions. § Data-entering invoices for payment. § Manages weekly checks and records all checks. § Prepares manual checks as requested. § Reconciles vendor statements. § New customer and new vendor set up including W-9 documentation. § Prepares FY vendor files and updates vendor information. § Annual processing and distribution of vendor 1099s § Prepares daily, weekly, monthly financial statement/reports

    § Warehouse Inventory

    § Contact Farms to receive updated Seed and supply inventory Administrative Duties § Files and maintains all accounting files and forms up to date. § Assists with employment verification requests as needed. § Assists the Finance Committee with their monthly meeting minute taking. § Assists Human Resources with benefits open enrollment data input as needed. Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Minimum of 1 year of Accounts Payable and Receivable experience is required. • Familiarity with bookkeeping and a general understanding of accounting practices and principles. • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook. QuickBooks experience is preferred. • Extensive data entry skills, spreadsheet, and word processing proficiency required. • Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material. • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data. • Demonstrates strong ethics and delivers on commitments. • Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem solving skills. • Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines with frequent interruption. • Ability to be organized and produce accurate results while meeting established deadlines. • Demonstrated customer service skills, with the ability to relate effectively and tactfully with all levels of the organization. • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications. *Education and Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Accounts Payable and Receivable experience is required. QuickBooks experience is preferred. Some college education is preferred but not required.
