Position Description
The Team Operations Intern will assist with all aspects of Bowl team and university hospitality and on-going, local Varsity Club events. The intern will provide support for team hospitality projects in advance of team selection and arrival, culminating in a variety of events and activities during bowl week. Additional events include a Labor Day weekend game and the Florida Blue Florida Classic.
General Responsibilities
The Team Ops Intern will provide support in preparation for and execution of the following:
· Assist with team support functions at practice sites, stadium, and locker rooms; this includes procuring endzone stencils, post-game meals, ice, water, and towels
· Coordinate rental car delivery and key return; track additional vehicles and subsequent billing back to schools
· Theme Park Ticket orders, coordination, tracking and disbursement; track all post-game settlement with schools
· Assist with team arrivals
· Coordinate (4) Player Welcome Parties with partner hotels and other vendors (DJ’s, barbers, AV, caterers, and others)
· Coordinate (4) Kid's Night Out events at the team hotels
· Fulfillment of volunteer, team, and VIP credentials
· Delivery and tracking of team and VIP gifts
· Assist with team site visits presentations and activities
· Other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
FCS is looking for a detail-oriented self-starter, who possesses excellent writing, proof reading, computer skills. Strong organizational skills, problem solving and the ability to get things done under pressure are essential. This person will interact with a variety of people and represent FCSports accordingly.
Required
· Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (esp. Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
· Knowledge of Smartsheet and building and maintaining dashboards.
· Experience in managing a heavy workload to meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
· Strong writing/proofreading skills
· Enrollment in a degree program for Sport Management, Marketing, Business, Hospitality Management, or related field; possess or working towards a post-graduate/master’s degree is not required but is highly preferred
· Experience in event planning or hospitality
· Knowledge of college football and football conferences
· Knowledge of local community and Orlando area a plus
· Clean driving record
Commitment
This is a seasonal position, July 31, 2023 through January 2023. The position requires the flexibility to work scheduled nights/weekends according to the Florida Citrus Sports/Varsity Club event schedule. The position requires the ability to work during the December holiday season and Christmas and New Year’s Day. The position will be paid hourly at a rate of $15/hr. and is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours/week based on a Sunday – Saturday work week. The successful candidate will be required to successfully complete a background check and motor vehicle driving check.
