    Title: Construction Project Executive (Miami, FL)

    The Company representative with primary P/IL responsibility for the project(s) assigned to him/her. Has broad authority to commit the Company on matters of cost and schedule. Serves as the Company's point of contact with the customer/owner of the project, as well as the general public and matters related to the project. Participates in the selection of the project staff and has primary responsibility for their performance in building the project within cost and schedule parameters.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor 's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline. Additional education in business administration in degree and/or continuing education courses, and other professional and technical training.
    • Seven years’ experience (two or more projects) at the Project Manager/Project Superintendent level. Demonstrated ability to manage large projects, supervise staff/work force, and relate to owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and other parties.
    • Very well-developed communication skills, oral, and written.
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret various reports and make sound decisions based on that interpretation.
    • Read and interpret drawings, specifications. and other contract documents.
    • Ability to walk on uneven terrain, climb ladders & operate a motor vehicle.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    •  Supervise project start up. Oversee development of initial plan and schedule. Assist Project Manager in establishing administrative procedures for the project - chart of accounts, schedule of values. Finalize any subcontract issues still pending.
    • Participate in selection of project staff. Develop concept of the mix of skills/experience required by the project. From the candidates available, select the best person for each key position.
    • Define and maintain that working relationship with the owner and subs which will best serve the interests of the Company on the project(s) and in the future.
    • Provide general leadership to the project team. Keep abreast of all issues affecting the project. Be available to assist staff members when they require guidance Keep key staff members informed on matters that affect their area of work, or may have a general affect on the project
    • Take an active interest in the training/development of staff members. Establish O J-T programs for those who are in development positions, and/or show potential for future advancement. Be aware of training/educational programs offered directly through the Company which would benefit the staff member(s) and allow them time to participate in those programs.
    • Assure that all Company policies and procedures pertaining to human resources, safety, quality, and other similar subjects are implemented on the project
    • Cause all required reports to be submitted accurately and in timely fashion.
    • On those projects on which collective bargaining agreements apply, manage the Company's relationship with the labor representatives.
    • Keep the VP/Operations Manager in formed through regular reporting channels and others, as required, concerning the progress of the project and any issues that might affect the schedule or P/L status of the project.
    • Close out the project. Finalize outstanding issues (c/o's, claims, etc.) with the owner and subcontractors/vendors. Request final payment from the owner; authorize final payment to subs and suppliers.
