  • Responsibilities

    The Advertising Account Executive is responsible to function as a consultant for Our Sunday Visitor, The Priest, The Deacon, OSV on-line and new products; selling advertising in the publications listed above. Some travel may be required to serve as a representative at trade shows and visit clients through-out the nation. 

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Nurture a solid relationship with each of your clients, representing Our Sunday Visitor as a professional advertising consultant that sets the standard for the industry
    • Achieve annual individual advertising revenue targets through solicitation and placement of advertising in Our Sunday Visitor products on-line and in print
    • Maximize growth of individual advertising revenue from prospecting and up selling, creating effective proposals, and working within set guidelines
    • Establish and maintain accurate data entry in the Ad system database for client base
    • Understand the marketplace and competition in order to better advise client base
    • Attend assigned meeting and business trade shows
    • Maintain a sound knowledge of Our Sunday Visitor products to better advise clients
    • Meet deadlines and recognize the importance of collaboration and respect when working with others at Our Sunday Visitor.
    • Keep Advertising Sales & Trade Show Manager informed on all aspects of activities
    • Encourage a positive work environment and experience for clients and co-workers
    • Takes initiative and responsibility for decisions as an individual and as an employee of OSV
    • Utilize material, equipment and time in a safe, beneficial and cost effective manner; organize workload to complete responsibilities in an appropriate and timely manner
    • Performs other duties and activities related to the work and responsibilities of this position and as assigned by the Advertising Sales & Trade Show Manager

    Required Experience

    • Due to the type of business OSV is and the subscribers OSV works with; knowledge of Catholic teachings and doctrine is helpful but not required
    • Minimum of one year in sales with some knowledge of advertising, would be beneficial, but not a requirement
    • 2-3 years of work experience in office, sales or customer service required
    • Knowledge of printing is a plus but not required
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite required
    • Ability to effectively use and research on the internet required
    • Demonstrated familiarity with using standard business computer application(s) and/or ability to learn current and new applications required
    • Ability to effectively use office equipment required
    • High School diploma or equivalent is required.  Associates degree preferred
