SUMMARY: Coordinates the day-to-day activities of a team of production workers to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production schedules; quality standards and on-time delivery metrics. Supervisor will be responsible for directing the assembly functions of the daily activities of the third shift while also working on the assembly lines with production staff to ensure the daily capacity and targets are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Supervises all personnel and operations in the department.
- Supervisors role is of a working supervisor and expected to work on the production lines as well as supplying the necessary materials.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment. Responsible for maintaining acceptable quality levels for all assigned products.
- Manages the activities of the group to accomplish completion of the production plan.
- Ensure operators receive required training and periodically evaluates employees to ensure they are meeting production standards and metrics.
- Organize work flow and makes corrections to ensure production plan is achieved.
- Assures that established policy, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
- Responsible for all manufacturing processes, equipment, and employees.
- Ensures safety and housekeeping of the assigned area and that all employees meet company established safety and quality requirements.
- Comprehends product specifications and other required documentation assigned.
- Reports any process, equipment issues and target shortfalls with corrective actions at end of shift with the incoming supervisor.
- Troubleshoots problems as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Previous manufacturing experience leading personnel in a fast pace environment.
- Requires knowledge and experience handling forklift equipment, and the ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand the operations in the assigned departments with the knowledge to ensure employees are properly trained in production, quality and safety.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints to the extent required to instruct production personnel with adequate clarity and detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATIONS:
- Minimum Level: Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent experience
- Preferred Level: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Level: 1 – 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or team lead role
- Preferred Level: 4 years +
- Forklift certification preferred
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:
- Certified Six Sigma Belt preferred
HOURS: 11pm - 7:30am
