    We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as a CAMPUS SAFETY OFFICER.

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma or GED and minimum of (6) months of related work experience in customer service or security.  A Class E Florida Driver’s License and a Florida Class “D” Security License. A CPR certification required or must be attained with six (6) months from start date.

      

    THIS IS A FULL-TIME, NON-EXEMPT POSITION WITH AN HOURLY RATE OF $12.16 with an approximate annual amount of $25,300. 

      

    WORKING HOURS:  Regular work hours are 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM This position is based at the Daytona Campus. However, this position may require travel for temporary assignment or permanent relocation to any of the Daytona State campuses.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:    

    • Performs routine patrol and building/room checks, open and closure activities.
    • Protection of college property and personnel, and the preservation of good order.
    • Responds to incidents, accidents, and emergencies on campus and writes reports.
    • Assisting motorists, students, employees, and visitors on campus.
    • Answering calls for assistance, escorting students and others as requested.
    • Maintaining necessary campus security records and reports.
    • Works dispatch, including answering phones, dispatching calls, monitoring alarm systems.
    • Prepares for and assists with special events
    • Maintains and cleans golf carts and other assigned equipment.
    • Attends periodic trainings
    • Maintains NIMS/FEMA certificates, CPR certificate, and class D License.
    • Ability and willingness to work, overtime, and on holidays and weekends; be flexible with job duties and available to work extended shifts with little or no prior notice.

      

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  The successful candidate must have excellent customer service skills to provide information, guidance, or aid. The candidate must also have computer skills sufficient to prepare security incident reports as well as effective oral and written communication proficiencies.

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements)

    • Strong ERP software experience required.
    • Intermediate Excel skills to include VLOOKUP, pivot table, external linking, and respect for proper database management and accuracy to ensure data quality and integrity.
    • Working experience in Agriculture industry preferred.
    • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), procedures and application.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to multitask, work independently, strong attention to detail with focus on accuracy.
    • Ability to analyze data and provide creative solutions.
    • Strong oral and written communications skills.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 15 lbs.

     

    WORK HOUR REQUIREMENTS

    Ability to work longer hours during period-end, year-end and budget times. Also, everyone in accounting is supporting the GRL after hours, this will happen for one week at a time every 3 months approx
