  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

    The Sales Allowance intern will focus on building a basic database of deduction practices by specific deduction type and customer specific details. The Sales Allowance intern will also learn how to utilize Microsoft Power BI to aid the department with reporting extraction and development of additional reports to aid in reporting and providing customer specific data to remote sales personnel, the intern will work in conjunction with the Credit & Collections team and Sales Allowances team.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

    • Develop work flow procedures for individual deduction types and subsequent adjustment procedures.
    • Develop new templates and workflow procedures for major customers’ deduction processes.
    • Aid with development of reporting packages/models
    • Analyze major customers’ deduction behaviors
    • Assist with SOP creation and process documentation
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

    • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Understanding of basic Accounting
    • High level of attention to detail
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

    • Current 2020 Fall junior or senior working towards a bachelor’s degree in or concentration of accounting or finance.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to sit for long periods of time.

    EQUIPMENT NEEDED

    • Desktop computer

    WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT

    • Approximate 15- 20 hour workweek, no overtime expected. Hours flexible.
    • Part-time paid internship. No housing assistance provided.
    • Internship 100% onsite in Monterey, CA. NOT A REMOTE INTERNSHIP.
    • Internship will start in January 2021 and end May/June 2021, depending on student's school schedule.
