    THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FLUOR-BWXT PORTSMOUTH LLC EMPLOYEES AND PERSONNEL ACTIVELY WORKING AT THE PORTS SITE.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Under general supervision, performs Communications job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities may include supporting the management and deployment of internal and external stakeholder communications processes.

    Typical responsibilities may include:

    • Compose, edit and/or revise written, online or broadcast messaging for use in various outreach efforts;
    • Respond to stakeholder feedback (written, electronic, face-to-face);
    • Represent the organization in various stakeholder forums;
    • Support interaction with local and national news media to further organizational messaging goals and respond as needed to media queries;
    • Support planning, material preparation and execution of public and stakeholder events;
    • Assist with content and process management within the department;
    • Assist with development and deployment of visual media;
    • Assist with formulation and deployment of strategic, targeted communications planning.
    • Acts as a resource and assists with training of lesser experienced technicians and specialists;
    • May be assigned special projects;
    • May act as team lead on small to medium size projects;
    • Provides technical, administrative and/or functional support to the Communications team;
    • Performs duties moderate to complex in nature;
    • Other job-related duties as assigned
    • Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
    • Actively participates in Safety Work Groups

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Work in an office at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed. 

    Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person “buddy system”), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching. 

    Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage. 

    In some cases radiological training may be required.

    Expert in digital Single Lens Reflex photography and post-production

    Proficient in videography, including pre- and post-production.

    Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office software and Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Photoshop and Premier or equivalents.

    Willing to work flexible hours.

    Must be proficient in the use Adobe Premiere non-linear video editing software

     

    Required Experience

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    BA/BS degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 3 - 6 years.

    Minimum of 20 years of PORTS site experience

    10+ years of professional videography experience, shooting and editing video

    FAA license to pilot a drone aircraft with 4+ years of professional drone experience flying in an industrial setting to capture high quality digital video and photographs.
