    Location: Norfolk, VA (Work primarily aboard U.S. Navy vessels at public and private shipyards)

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a hands-on, dependable Flushing Technician to support the setup, operation, monitoring, and breakdown of flushing systems used aboard U.S. Navy ships. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality and safety while working in dynamic shipyard environments.

    The technician is expected to learn and perfect how to prepare for projects, clean tanks/units, maneuver and connect supply & return hoses (1/2” – 4” in diameter) throughout ships and in confined spaces/locations, perform mechanical installations & reconnections, pump operation & procedures, troubleshooting (as required), all while maintaining professionalism and a clean & safe work environment.

    Key Responsibilities 

    System Setup:

    • Unpack and prepare flushing and support equipment.

      Install and route hoses and power connections according to specifications.

    • Assemble system components and troubleshoot issues.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

    Operations & Monitoring:

    • Monitor systems throughout the operation and document all required information.

    • Inspect hoses, pumps, and equipment regularly for leaks or malfunctions.

    • Assist in completing Quality Assurance documentation.

    System Breakdown:

    • Safely disassemble and pack equipment (must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs).

    • Drain and clean hoses and system components.

    • Restore the worksite to its original condition.

    • Perform end-of-job inventory and reporting.

    Repairs & Maintenance:

    • Repair and maintain equipment including pumps, dehydrators, filters, and electrostatic precipitators.

    • Perform basic plumbing, electrical work, and metal fabrication.

    • Follow routine maintenance protocols before and after each job.

    Additional Duties:

    • Support general maintenance and service repair programs.

    • Complete other related duties as assigned.

    For Qualifications:

    • Must be 18 years or older.

    • High school diploma or GED required.

    • 1+ years of relevant experience preferred (training available for fast learners).

    • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.

    • Must pass pre-employment screening (drug test, physical, background check).

    • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
