    The Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum is looking for friendly, welcoming and outgoing

    part-time Admissions and Retail Associates to provide excellent customer service to our guests.

    These positions support our Guest Services Division by acting as front-line ambassadors for

    FHCAM and performing all “front of house” activities.

    About the Position

    You’ll join a top-notch team and will be responsible for ensuring a positive guest experience by

    performing a wide range of customer-facing activities such as greeting guests, assisting with

    customer purchases, cashiering, ticketing, providing directions and general information about

    the local and regional area. Admissions and Retail Associates work in the Museum Gift Store

    and may assist in event and pop-up stores as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Enthusiastically engage with and greet visitors.
    • Ring in ticket and retail transactions accurately.
    • Handle heavy cash and credit card transactions, including cash reconciliation.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of gift shop inventory in order to sell, upsell, and answer customer questions.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the Guest Services Division operations to provide accurate information and excellent customer service.
    • Assist in set up and operations for events and special programs.
    • Respond to questions and inquiries and provide information about activities and opportunities within FHCAM and the surrounding area.
    • Act upon concerns and/or complaints from guests by referring them to the appropriate staff member or supervisor.
    • Assist in crowd management to ensure that entrances and corridors remain clear for the safety of guests.
    • React calmly and productively in various situations and respond to multiple questions and inquiries in a professional, pleasant manner.
    • Keep assigned work area clean, stocked, and safe.
    • Demonstrate professional phone etiquette.
    • Assist with Volunteers.
    • Provide outstanding customer service.
    • Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    _ Education and Experience:_

    High-school diploma or GED; equivalent combinations will be considered.

    _ Licenses and Certifications and Other Requirements:_

    Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is required.

    Execution of a confidentiality agreement is required.

    Competencies:

    • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes; ability to assess customer needs, meet established service level standards and evaluate customer satisfaction.
    • Knowledge of cashiering, Point of Sale (POS) systems, and cash handling.
    • Strong communication skills; ability to effectively respond to internal and external inquiries, present information and respond to questions from a diverse audience including the general public.
    • Effective interpersonal skills; demonstrated understanding and use of diplomacy.
    • Demonstrated experience using computers and handling cash.
    • Ability to follow direction, work safely, effectively and efficiently.
    • Commitment to ethical practices as they relate to all aspects of museum operations.
    • Ability to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
    • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
    • Ability to work weekends and holidays.

    • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required

    to travel independently within museum office and spaces, and indoor/outdoor event

    spaces on museum property. In the work environments described below, position

    requires verbal and written conversation with others, standing for long periods, walking,

    reaching, lifting/moving objects up to 30 pounds, and use of hands to finger, handle, or

    feel objects, tools, or controls. The position frequently requires the ability to bend, twist,

    carry, reach, overhead reach, climb, push, pull, walk, stand, squat, and focus. Vision

    abilities required by the job include close vision.

    • Work Environment: Work will be performed in a normal sales and admissions

    environment, including museum spaces, and indoor/outdoor event spaces on museum

    property. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather

    conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually low

    to moderate.
