Job Description

Flyntlok is a rapidly expanding cloud software company based in Anchorage, Alaska providing hosted business management applications. We are looking for a candidate with experience developing backend systems for web-based applications. Our software team is using some of the latest technologies in the web sphere, like React/Apollo to power our front-end development, and a GraphQL server to interface with our database.

• Experience developing APIs to serve frontend application needs.
• Ability to quickly pick up new technologies and software languages.
• Ability to work individually and in groups for software projects.
• Ability to solve complex business problems by working with key stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills, both in documenting code changes and discussing ideas with the team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work on software projects to expand our current Dealer Management software.
• Work with our consultants to address any customer-reported issues.
• Work with customers and our development team to implement new software solutions.
• Provide ideas for improving software development processes.

PREFERRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience as a backend developer, preferably for web-based applications.
• Strong knowledge of software architectural patterns.
• Knowledge of Domain Driven Design, and any associated concepts (Aggregates, Ubiquitous Language, Event Storming, etc).
• Knowledge of common programming patterns (Strategy, Repository, Adapter, etc.)
• Experience with the following web-based technologies: GraphQL, Apollo, MySQL, ES6, Node/Express, Typescript, PHP, gRPC.

COMPENSATION

Compensation depends on experience. We offer a full range of benefits including 401K, Medical, Dental, Annual Bonus, and 2 weeks of working remote per year.

We work in a very nice office with a deck overlooking Campbell Creek. It tends to be a quiet office with some music going since software developers tend to be a very focused bunch. We typically cook food once a week. We work Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5:30. This position is full-time and in-person.
