A local Road Service Company is seeking a Diesel Technician/Mechanic I. This Technician/Mechanic will be required to diagnose, adjust, and repair all series of motor truck, trailers, heavy equipment including, but not limited to the following: Engines (gas and diesel), Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials/Power dividers, PTO systems, Starters/Alternators, Refrigeration systems, Air conditioning systems (including cold and hot units), Fan clutches, Engine electronics (gas/diesel), Power steering systems, and Steering gear box (manual and power) Hydraulic systems and Lifting/Digging systems. Work with vehicles and machines used in farming, construction, warehouses, and on-highway trucks and buses.
Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions and differentials) is required.
Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand tools and power tools) required
Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
Knowledge of diagnostic computerized applications/systems also required. Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required.
This position is located in the San Simon/Willcox area.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Job Requirements:
2 plus years’ experience required
Vocational/Technical school completion or applicable certification preferred
A minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
Possess physical strength to be able to lift heavy items
A valid driver’s license and a good record of driving
Effective interpersonal and proven customer service skills
Strong ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally
Ability to display professionalism, maintain quality focus, and pay attention to detail
