    HOUSEKEEPER

    Maureen’s Professional House Cleaning, a 40 year old local housekeeping business, is seeking a Full Time Housekeeper.  The average number of hours for this position is 30 - 40 hours per week.  The starting pay for this position is $10.50 – $11.50, depending on experience. Working hours are usually Mon - Fri 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Maureen’s offers paid vacation and paid holidays.

    Below is a list of the duties the Housekeeper is expected to perform:

    On a regular basis:

    • sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors

    • vacuum clean carpets, rugs and draperies

    • dust and polish furniture and fittings

    • clean metal fixtures and fittings

    • empty and clean trash containers

    • wash dishes and clean kitchen according to agreed hygiene standards

    • clean appliances

    • clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers

    • make up beds and change linens as required

    • tidy up rooms

    • wash windows as scheduled

    • operate mechanized cleaning equipment

    Occasionally the Housekeeper could be required to perform these duties:

    • sort, wash, load and unload laundry

    • sort, fold and put away clean laundry

    • polish silverware

    • perform other duties as required

    The successful candidate should possess the following competencies:

    • able to listen and follow instructions

    • effective communication skills

    • able to work unsupervised

    • able to maintain a professional manner at all times

    • displays integrity and honesty

    • maintain a positive attitude towards residents and guests

    • demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness

    • able to follow and adhere to standard policies and procedures

    This housekeeper duties involve demanding physical tasks that require certain physical abilities, including but not limited to:

    • able to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum weight of approximately 25lbs

    • able to stand for long periods of time

    • able to kneel, bend and crawl

    • able to squat and crouch

    • able to work in confined spaces

    • able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals

    Other position requirements:

    • Reliable transportation

    • Valid Driver’s License

    • Proof of Auto Insurance
