    Job Description

     

    SUMMARY: The VP of Sales will work closely with the CEO to develop and execute long term strategy to profitably develop new business to add to the current business portfolio. The ideal candidate is both strategic and tactical with entrepreneurial leadership experience and a proven record of success in growing early stage revenues.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    JOB TASKS/DUTIES (NOT ALL INCLUSIVE):

    · Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and service.

    · Determines price schedules and discount rates.

    · Reviews operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.

    · Monitors customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.

    · Prepares budgets and approve budget expenditures.

    · Confers or consults with department heads to plan advertising services and to secure information according to customer specifications.

    · Directs and coordinates activities involving sales of manufactured products, services, commodities, real estate or other subjects of sale.

    · Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of divisional sales goals and profitability.

    · Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.

    · Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.

    · Maintains performance and development.

    · Meets or exceeds all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and sales.

    · Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.

    · Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.

    · Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

    · Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

    · Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    · Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    · A proven track record of success that includes administrative management, facilities, creative problem-solving and business partner experience is desired.

    · Requires critical thinking skills, communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

    · Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.

    · Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.

    · Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.

    · Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.

    · Ability to gain the respect and confidence of other team members.

    · Have a high level of energy, positive attitude, and possess a selfless attitude for the benefit of the firm.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE, CORE COMPETENCIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

    · Experience with retailers and food services accounts

    · Experience with selling consumer packaged goods

    · Experience managing 24/7 accounts, logistic challenges, client requests

    · Experience with working with R&D department to develop client specific food products
