    Job Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Food industry manufacturer located in the Ontario are is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager responsible for coordinating the regulatory food safety and quality compliance activities under the most current certification codes and standards. The applicant must be familiar with the following standards and certifications: SQF, HACCP including CCP monitoring, Kosher certification, Organic certification, SOPs, and GMPs. The ideal candidate will be experienced in meeting established standards of quality.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    QUALITY SYSTEMS & FOOD SAFETY:

    • Keep company quality assurance and food safety policies, procedures, and certifications updated and in compliance
    • Lead HACCP program
    • Document, coordinate, and support internal audits as well as on-site 3rd party, evaluate audit findings and implement corrective actions
    • Create, implement, document, and maintain all quality control criteria, standards, procedures, records, and objectives
    • Design, develop, and implement quality control training programs
    • Provide and oversee internal inspection activity for product throughout production cycle
    • Maintain active role on internal improvement objectives
    • Conduct mock product recalls as Lead Recall Coordinator for organization
    • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service through inspection and correction of all customer issues relating to quality through root case analysis
    • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality standards of finished products
    • Provide technical and statistical expertise to quality/production teams to set organizational objectives, track performance, and report KPI statistics
    • Supervise employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure quality of raw materials and finished products
    • Interpret quality control standards with key personnel within the company
    • Oversee all required Food Safety Training to all levels of the organization
    • Promote safe, clean work environment and ensure compliance with the Company’s Injury & Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP)
    • Perform all job duties in compliance with the Company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Five (5) years’ work experience with Food Safety Policies and standard operating procedures for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
    • HACCP Certification
    • Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certification

    ·         Five (5) years supervisory/management experience in the industry

    • Proficiency in MS Office products
    • Excellent math, organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Highly motivated self-starter who is able to work independently

    Education:

    • BS in Food Science or Related Field
