    We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! Responsibilities: • Observe all company-required food safety guidelines and protocols in the areas where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is utilized • Read recipe measurements, meal charts, label instructions in English, and use the correct measuring tools • Handle simple cooking tasks such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups and reducing sauces, and assisting others in the kitchen when necessary • Keep all prep and workstation areas organized and equipment hygienic and sanitized at closing • Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces • Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepares ingredients (chopping, portioning), cooks dishes per recipes and BEOs, operates kitchen equipment (ovens, grills). • Quality & Presentation: Ensures food meets quality standards, follows plating guidelines, garnishes, and creates attractive displays for buffets or plated meals. • Event Execution : Sets up and breaks down cooking stations, manages food flow, assists with plating, carves meats, and ensures timely service for events. • Sanitation & Safety: Maintains clean workstations, adheres to all food safety regulations, and handles food storage properly (labeling, dating). • Inventory & Stock: Monitors stock levels, requisitions supplies, inspects incoming food, and manages portion control to minimize waste. Qualifications: • Experienced in the proper handling of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and other kitchen tools • Have some experience prepping food and the ability to work under the head chef/cook with minor supervision • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, pull heavy items, and stand on your feet for your entire shift • We’d like you to have some kitchen experience and associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent, but it’s not necessary • Understanding of how to read recipes, meal charts, measuring tools, and labels in English Essential Skills: • Ability to work under pressure in high-volume settings. • Strong time management and organizational skills. • Excellent communication and teamwork. • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation. Typical Work Environment: • Busy hotel kitchens, conference centers, and event venues. • High-pressure, deadline-driven. • Collaborate with culinary and banquet teams. Compensation: $18.10 per hour
