Job Summary
The Food Runner / Bar Back plays an essential role in delivering a seamless dining and bar experience for guests at Goodstone Inn & Restaurant. This position supports the front-of-house and bar teams by ensuring food and beverages are delivered promptly, maintaining cleanliness and organization in service areas, and assisting servers and bartenders during service.
The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This role requires teamwork, efficiency, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Food Runner Responsibilities
Deliver food from the kitchen to guests quickly and accurately.
Ensure plates are presented correctly in accordance with restaurant standards.
Communicate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely service.
Assist servers with clearing tables and resetting for the next guests.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of service stations.
Help monitor guest needs and assist servers when necessary.
Provide friendly and professional interactions with guests.
Bar Back Responsibilities
Support bartenders during service by restocking bar supplies, glassware, and ingredients.
Prepare garnishes, juices, and bar setup before service begins.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the service areas and behind the bar.
Change kegs, refill ice bins, and keep bar equipment stocked.
Collect and wash glassware as needed to keep service running smoothly.
Assist bartenders with opening and closing duties.
Ensure all bar areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.
General Responsibilities
Work closely with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure excellent service.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and hospitality with all guests.
Follow company standards and service procedures.
Assist with side work and closing duties as assigned.
Maintain knowledge of menu items and restaurant offerings.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements and Skills
Prior restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Demands
