We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Food Service Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent service, working efficiently in a dynamic environment, and contributing to a positive experience for all guests. This role involves a variety of tasks related to food preparation, serving, cleaning, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service.
Take food and beverage orders accurately, either verbally or using a POS (Point of Sale) system.
Answer customer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and daily specials.
Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
Address customer concerns or complaints courteously and promptly, escalating to management when necessary.
Build positive relationships with regular customers.
Food Preparation & Handling:
Assist with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., washing and chopping vegetables, assembling sandwiches, preparing beverages, brewing coffee).
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines precisely.
Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to established quality and safety standards.
Store food items properly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
Serving & Delivery:
Serve food and beverages to customers in a timely and professional manner.
Deliver orders to tables or prepare for takeout/delivery.
Ensure proper presentation of dishes and drinks.
Cleanliness & Sanitation:
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, dining area, and kitchen space at all times.
Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans as needed.
Empty trash receptacles and manage waste appropriately.
Regularly clean and sanitize tables, counters, equipment, and floors.
Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP, local health codes).
Stocking & Inventory:
Restock service areas, condiments, beverages, and supplies as needed.
Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
Inform management of low stock levels or damaged products.
Team Collaboration:
Work effectively and collaboratively with other team members, including cooks, dishwashers, and other front-of-house staff.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and supervisors.
Be willing to assist in other areas of the operation as needed to ensure smooth service.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a food service, retail, or customer service role is a plus, but not required (we provide training for motivated individuals!).
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Basic math skills for handling transactions.
Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
Reliable and punctual.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures.
