Core4ce is hiring a Technical Systems Analyst/Writer. In this dual-function role, the Technical Systems Analyst/Writer will bridge the gap between complex technical systems and clear, comprehensive documentation across both standard IT and medical/clinical environments.
The analyst/writer will be responsible for analyzing clinical network infrastructures, enterprise IT systems, and connected medical devices, translating these into high-quality visual diagrams and highly accessible documentation.
Responsibilities
- System Analysis & Documentation: Analyze complex enterprise IT systems, clinical applications (such as EHR/EMR, PACS, and LIS), and medical device network infrastructures to create accurate, up-to-date technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Network & Systems Mapping: Design, develop, and maintain detailed, enterprise-grade network and architecture diagrams using Microsoft Visio, clearly distinguishing between general IT infrastructure and clinical/medical device networks.
- Data Flow & Protocol Mapping: Accurately document system components, illustrating detailed data flows and mapping specific network ports, protocols, and communication paths used by each individual component (including clinical data exchange and medical device telemetry).
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, clinical engineers, medical device security teams, software developers, and healthcare administrators to gather system requirements and architectural details.
- Standardization & Compliance: Establish, maintain, and enforce templates and standards for technical documentation and diagramming, ensuring alignment with healthcare privacy, security regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and organizational policies.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly audit and update existing documentation and Visio diagrams to reflect clinical system upgrades, network segmentations, and medical device integrations.
*This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance
- Familiarity with medical device security assessment and clinical engineering workflows.
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Technical Systems Analyst, Technical Writer, Clinical Systems Analyst, or a similar hybrid role in a healthcare IT, hospital, or medical technology environment.
- Diagramming Expertise: Advanced, demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Visio specifically for creating complex network topologies, clinical data flow diagrams, and system architecture layouts.
- Networking & Medical IT Knowledge: Solid foundational understanding of enterprise networking concepts (routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, network segmentation), the OSI model, and how clinical systems/medical devices interface with IT networks.
- Ports & Protocols: Proven ability to accurately identify, trace, and document data flows, mapping out specific IT and medical network ports and protocols (e.g., TCP/UDP, HTTP/S, HL7, DICOM, FHIR, DICOM TLS, and PACS communication ports) for various interrelated systems and clinical components.
- Technical Writing: Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to translate complex clinical workflows and technical specifications into clear, digestible documentation for both highly technical engineers and clinical stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to map out complex system dependencies, network boundaries, and secure medical device zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Certified Health Technology Specialist (CHTS), Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS), or relevant technical writing credentials.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST, FDA guidance on medical device cybersecurity).
- Experience documenting cloud-based clinical architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) or secure hybrid-cloud medical environments.
