Food Technologist Intern (Unpaid Internship- Chinese Speaking Required)
Job Description
Assist in the preparation and measurement of ingredients for product testing and formulation.
Support the R&D team in monitoring production runs to ensure adherence to process standards.
Help draft and maintain product specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and related documentation.
Participate in data collection, testing, and basic analysis to support product development and improvement.
Assist in organizing sensory evaluations for new and existing products, as well as competitor benchmarking.
Coordinate with other departments (Production, QA, and Maintenance) during plant trials or product testing.
Help maintain a clean, organized R&D test kitchen and ensure all materials and supplies are stocked.
Support troubleshooting efforts for production issues related to product formulation or process.
Conduct basic market and product research to stay informed about food trends and new ingredients.
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling formulations, data, and reports.
Perform other tasks and learning activities as assigned by the R&D team.
Additional Information:
This is an unpaid internship.
Hybrid Schedule: 2-3 days per week, with full onsite participation required.
Duration: 3 months Commitment with the potential for full-time consideration based on performance.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry , or a related field.
Strong interest in product development, food manufacturing, and sensory evaluation.
Basic understanding of food ingredients, processing, and quality principles (preferred).
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel); familiarity with data entry and documentation.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
Bilingual in Mandarin and English is required.
