Responsibilities
Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
Maintain “open door” communication with employees
Uphold the highest standards of hospitality and service, constantly monitoring guest experience
Enforce training programs with the goal of constant improvement, both at the individual and group level
Responsible for obtaining maximum results in the utilization and appearance of the food and beverage areas, the quality levels, performance and standards of service
Develop new and analyze existing procedures that will improve guest patronage under the guidelines of Company’s policies
Handles guest complaints in the restaurant area as needed
Inspect and taste prepared foods to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations
Participate in weekly departmental meetings
Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control
Assist F&B Manager in selecting, training, guiding, managing and scheduling personnel
Monitor and develop employee performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling, evaluations, setting annual goals and delivering recognition and reward
Ensure staff understand their job expectations before holding them accountable
The ability to open restaurant according to standards and ensuring ability to receive guest at predesignated opening time.
The ability to take restaurant reservations and assign rooms or seating taking into account service standards.
The ability to ensure the correct and consistent service techniques for various meal periods will be demonstrated by all staff members.
The ability to assist in controlling the usage of all food and beverage items and the usage of equipment, tools and service equipment.
The ability to observe daily conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the restaurant; makes recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
The ability to assist in the preparation of staff schedules which allow for appropriate service while controlling labor costs and overtime.
The ability to ensure a safe working environment for all associates within the restaurant.
The ability to prepare daily and weekly payrolls.
The ability to complete all necessary paperwork associated with the revenues and labor of the restaurant.
The ability to process a guest walk-out.
The ability to understand all food and beverage items offered, including ingredients, methods of preparation and proper service.
The ability to promote teamwork and foster a harmonious working climate.
The ability to promote food public relations and handle complaints or concerns of guests.
The ability to utilize the computer system in ringing, printing, and closing checks as well as shift reports.
The ability to recognize and address potential intoxicated, disruptive, or undesirable guests.
The ability to give complete support to the Restaurant Manager and assume responsibility for the restaurant upon the Restaurant Manager’s absence.
Core Competencies
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Two (2) years of related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred
