Forbes Advisor Legal is looking for a Deputy Editor with legal writing and editing experience to join the Forbes Advisor Legal team.

Forbes Advisor Legal offers quality content on a wide range of legal topics, including practice areas like personal injury law, family law, criminal law, best attorneys by location and more. We strive to stand out from the pack as a neutral, trusted source of genuinely helpful legal content so that readers can easily absorb, understand and feel confident in their next steps.

Responsibilities:

• Help the Managing Editor build and scale legal content efforts, including managing the day-to-day content workflow
• Find, recruit and onboard freelancers with legal expertise. Train and support freelancers on how to use Forbes Legal tools and style guides
• Work with the Content team to build best practices for legal content strategies, including content, templates, imagery and social media standards
• Leverage data and SEO best practices to create monthly topics for freelancers that include explanatory content, how-tos, roundups, best-ofs and product reviews
• Work collaboratively with the global editorial, data and SEO teams to produce legal content
• Serve as primary editor for Best Attorney articles (i.e. Best Personal Injury Attorneys in Dallas), including building methodologies to rate and rank attorneys

_ Requirements:_

• Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school required
• At least 3-5 years of experience in online legal journalism
• Demonstrably strong understanding of legal content
• Experience with SEO best practices, willingness to learn and expand SEO skills
• Strong understanding of voice and tone
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Nimble and open to quick changes in strategy
• A passion for writing and good editing skills, especially the ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and simply
