    Job Description

    PURPOSE:

    The Network Administrator’s role is to ensure the secure and stable operations of the computer network and messaging infrastructure in order to provide maximum performance and availability of the network resources to end users. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, optimizing and troubleshooting all network hardware, network software and communication links and firewalls. The Network Administrator will also perform some systems administration duties such as configuring servers, backups, administering computer accounts. The person will also analyze and resolve end user issues where required.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, UPSs and other network devices
    • Manage and support messaging infrastructure, hardware and software
    • Manage servers and their associated operating systems and software
    • Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems
    • Ensure network connectivity of all workstations
    • Administer network equipment, hardware and software upgrades
    • Perform network design and capacity planning
    • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery
    • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specification information
    • Administration of Active Directory following the organization’s security policies
    • Perform server and security audits and test and maintain network security from both internal and external threats
    • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports
    • Recommend schedules and perform network improvements, upgrades and repairs
    • Participate in business continuity planning, implementation and testing
    • Perform system backups and recovery
    • Provide user support and troubleshooting as required

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor degree education and or equivalent work experience
    • Cisco Certification preferred.
    • Thorough technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including current versions of Windows Server OS.
    • Extensive application support experience with firewall, routing, wireless networking and unified communications systems, preferably in a Lync/Skype for Business environment.
    • In depth technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards. Hands on hardware troubleshooting experience.
    • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws in an International environment.
