We are seeking an experienced and skilled Foreman Ironworker to lead our team in the safe and efficient erection of steel structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ironworking, leadership experience, and the ability to manage a team effectively on various construction sites. As the Ironworker-Foreman you will oversee the installation of structural steel, metal frameworks and other ironwork materials ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations on-site, supervising and leading a crew of ironworkers and ensuring productivity and efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine work scope and project requirements.
- Assign tasks to ironworkers based on skill levels and project requirements, providing direction and support as needed.
- Monitor work progress and ensure that it aligns with project timelines and quality standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety meetings and training for crew members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the construction process, adapting plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades to ensure clear communication and coordination on the job site.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and employee timekeeping.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, a strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in ironworking or related trade preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ironworker, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, installation techniques, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform the demanding duties of an ironworker, including lifting and working at heights.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites as required.
