Forensic Intelligence Analyst - Crim Intelligence
Job Description
Job Summary
Eligible to telework up to two days per week at supervisory discretion after training period.
This announcement will be used to fill one vacant Criminal Intelligence Analyst in the F orensic I ntelligence R esponse S upport and T esting (FIRST) Section of the BCA Forensic Science Services. The BCA FSS FIRST Section focuses efforts on front-end forensic initiatives offering expedited forensic science services to assist with investigative leads for violent crime. This section will offer forensic intelligence through crime scene response, utilizing progressive forensic technology, providing relevant services and training to our criminal justice partners. This position provides investigative analytical assistance to the BCA FSS, assistance on special casework assignments, and/or other complex forensic intelligence initiatives. Additionally, this position provides pattern and trend analysis of statewide and/or regional criminal activities as it relates to forensic intelligence. All activities will be conducted in adherence to the agency policies and procedures in a manner that embodies the mission, vision, and values of the MN BCA.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience doing criminal investigative work in a law enforcement, military, or other closely related field.
*BA degree in criminal justice or closely related field may substitute for one (1) year; MA degree in criminal justice or closely related field may substitute for eighteen (18) months; AA degree in criminal justice or closely related field may substitute for six (6) months
OR
Certification (satisfactory completion of probation) as a CIA in the MN BCA Investigations Division.

Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting 50-pound items and frequently moving and transporting objects such as heavy tools and heavy file boxes. This job may require positioning self to move to a significant degree across rough terrain or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.

A Criminal History Background check and reference checks will be completed on the prospective employee. Additional components to the background check for this position will include the following:
