  • Responsibilities

    Supervise the Dimensional Validation Team (DVT) activity to deliver real-time dimensional data in order to drive improvement for all programs and meet or exceed all planned objectives.

    Major Responsibilities

    Responsible for quality & conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing IATF16949 documented systems, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering representative. Organize the DV Team to successfully launch items related to Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Percentage Inspect Points which Satisfy Tolerance (PIST) score Schedule product tuning trials, white-light scans, Farro arm scan, and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) layouts based upon customer requirements utilizing established Cosma Program Management Process (CPMP) timelines Hold regular review meetings with DVT Gage Engineer & DVT Lab Technicians to analyze & interpret testing data which attains desired PIST level; accurately manage & organize data for easy retrieval Ensure support of the Manufacturing team needs by providing accurate and timely data from CMM and white light scanning activity Communicate data from CMM and/or white light scans which identifies product quality improvement opportunity with Tool Room and Engineering support teams Hold weekly meetings in collaboration with the Program Manager, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Engineer, and the mass production lab supervisor to discuss all time-sensitive items and to keep the team on-task while working through launch items related to PIST and PPAP while supporting the needs of the mass production group. Ensure PPAP timelines are established and objectives are met on-time to attain PPAP approval, thereby enabling Eagle Bend to receive payment from the customer on tooling, fixtures, containers, etc. Organize & report out information collected by the Launch Team to senior management and to the customer representative(s), as required Identify & communicate critical issues to senior management while including Program Manager, APQP QE, and Business Unit Manager so that EBM can have an “all hands on deck” approach to launching programs successfully while minimizing risk Develop and maintain good working relationships with Program Managers, Advance Product Quality Planning Engineers, Business Unit Managers, and shop floor supervisors for successful product launches Seek out opportunities for Continuous Improvement to improve quality, reduce waste, reduce/eliminate scrap while controlling cost Housekeeping and other activities as assigned

    Knowledge and Education

    High School Diploma required Technical education in machining, quality, and/or engineering (4+ years preferred) SPC (Statistical Process Control) and PC-DMIS software Technical understanding of CMM operation and white light scanning Computer Aided Design (CAD); knowledge/use of CATIA software

    Work Experience

    1-2 years dimensional validation and/ or data analysis experience 4-6 years’ Quality and/or Engineering experience (minimum) CMM; Manufacturing/machine operation, preferably in the automotive field Statistics; technical math skills Tool & die & fixture design experience helpful Supervisory experience preferred

    Skills and Competencies

    Excellent computer skills required for programming & operating CMM. Familiarity with GD&T
