Minimum 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have Resistance and MIG Welding experience
AutoCAD Inventor or 3D equivalent experience preferred
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Knowledge of tool design and manufacturing flows/processes
Must have experience with automated welding equipment and automated welding processes; Fanuc preferred
Ability to read and interpret GD&T on engineering drawings
Fundamental knowledge in NDE and ability to categorize & quantify weld defects
Knowledge of weld destruct testing methods
Investigates, establishes, and implements requirements for weld equipment, tooling, materials, or methods including preparing the necessary business case so a make versus buy decision can be made.
Develops and implements optimal, cost effective welding processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
Recommends and implements improvements to welding processes, methods, and controls.
Responsible for the coordination of assigned projects from concept through final implementation. Assembles timelines and coordinates required activities to bring assigned projects to successful completion within timing and budget targets.
Assist quoting group with welding quotes, providing cycle times, capital equipment/tooling costs
Assist in FMEA development to highlight potential quality concerns
Design, follow up, start up, and prove out new welding equipment.
Create WPS documentation of all welding job parameters
Create weld tooling set-up documentation
Order and organize welding consumables and standardize where possible.
Troubleshoot welding equipment and maximize machine efficiency.
Provide a documented training process for welding technician, welding operators, and supervisors.
Document machine standards for welding equipment and make recommendations for support equipment.
