    Job Responsibilities

    Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA), and accident prevention. This person is responsible for deploying, implementing, and leading the HSE agenda, at the division, by working together with the Leadership team with the integration of Safety, Environmental, prevention, and regulatory compliance into everyday work life.

    The Division HSE Coordinator has responsibility to analyze accident data, develop and implement actionable safety solutions. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in HSE and can clearly articulate, develop and implement actionable plans. The candidate is expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem solving ability to develop best-in-class HSE programs for the improvement of the overall HSE strategy within the division.

    1. Implement, execute, ensure compliance with the Cosma/Magna International HSE policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local OSHA/EPA regulations (i.e. Lockout, HazCom, Machine Safety, SARA, RCRA, etc.)

    2. Lead the development and implementation of the HSE Annual Operating Plans and HSE Action Plans for the Division; develop and track KPI HSE Metrics for the division

    3. Achieve annual targets rates for Lost Time, Recordable, Severity, and Environmental

    4. Develop, implement, execute, and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries, and environmental incidents

    5. Demonstrate solid employee relations experience, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

    6. Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental protection

    7. Conduct HSE activities such as training/auditing/assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory agency requirements, Cosma/Magna standards, and internal LMV HSE procedures

    8. Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/ or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures

    9. Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use

    10. Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the location leadership to drive continuous HSE improvement across the location

    11. Complete root-cause analyses and develop corrective action plans to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques (5-Why, 8-D, etc.)

    12. Ensure compliance of all external contractors as part of the Contractor Management Program

    13. Manage environment aspects of the work site; (e.g. waste disposal, recycling, air emission approvals, spill control, etc).

    14. Develop, maintain, and communicate HSE procedures/work instructions/processes to applicable team members and leadership.

    15. Identify, maintain and control all HSE records.

    16. Lead the investigation of HSE nonconformities as appropriate and follow up on corrective/preventive actions to ensure closure.

    17. Prepare information required for Management Review of the integrated HSE Management System and participate in the review.

    18. Follow and adhere to requirements of current customer quality, safety and environmental management systems standards.

    19. Participate in the approval process for new products.

    20. Develops, implements, maintains and coordinates the health and safety management system (eg. JHSC, EPRP, PPA) for the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of hazards.

    21. Manages and administers professional health and safety services, respecting confidences and advises honestly.

    22. Coordinates external services for annual and biannual air and noise sampling.

    23. Ensures and maintains accurate records to provide documentation and accountability in support of findings and conclusions.

    24. Provides HSE training of personnel as it pertains to their position in the company and the health and safety management system.

    25. Chair of JHSC; and makes recommendations as required.

    26. Reviews investigation of accidents/incidents and follows up to ensure completion of recommendations. Cooperates in the preparation of material/evidence for use in hearings and insurance investigations.

    27. Promotes/recommends continuous improvement suggestions including environment, people, processes and equipment/machinery

    28. Abides by all plant health, safety and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

    29. Follows and adheres to requirements of current customer quality (TS 16949), safety (OHSAS 18001) and environmental (ISO 14001) management systems standards.

    Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.

    Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.

    Know and follow all applicable EH&S Policies and Procedures.
