Currently seeking Industrial Forklift Mechanic in the Lorain County Area!
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions in tow motors (different models) to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
- Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears
- Perform scheduled maintenance on tow motors, such as cleaning and lubricating parts
- Overhaul and test major components, such as engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records
- Track repairs in CMMS System
- Communicates across various levels of the organization to achieve departmental goals
- Communicate to outside OEM, part suppliers and repair contractors
- Collaborates and coordinates with the manufacturing team.
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings to determine work procedures.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED
- Mobile Equipment, Diesel/Engine Repair, Hydraulic Repair Certifications or equivalent
- Preference given for experience with Fork Truck Repair or Engine Repair
- Safety – PPE, Medical Access, Fire Extinguisher, Hazard Communication, Emergency Evacuation, tow motor operator training, Crane PM training
- Flexible work schedule to address downtime and ability to work overtime as needed
- Clearly and effectively use verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical, and industrial environment
- Time management through performing multiple operations simultaneously
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Handling and Moving Objects- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials.
- Controlling Machines and Processes- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
- Inspecting Equipment or Material to identify the cause of problems or defects
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Close and distance vision necessary as well as depth perception.
- Performing General Physical Activities- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials.
