The forklift operator/warehouse employee will be responsible for the safe loading and unloading of trucks. Providing materials to the production floor, maintaining proper levels of materials. Operation of forklift and pallet jacks.
** Responsibilities**
- Unload materials and products from incoming trucks.
- Load materials and products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
- Transport raw materials to production areas.
- Inspection of forklift to ensure safe operations.
- Routine maintenance of forklift and other material handling equipment to ensure proper operation of machinery.
- Operate forklift, pallet jacks, palletizer and other material handling equipment.
- Load materials and product on outgoing trucks.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Warehousing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and housekeeping as assigned in the Master Sanitation schedule.
- Follow the food safety plan, quality plan and company policies to ensure product meets food safety regulations and quality requirements.
** Qualifications**
- Preferred 2 years of forklift experience.
- Preferred 2 years of warehousing experience.
- Prior material handling experience would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with all aspects of warehouse operations including shipping and receiving, inventory systems, warehouse management systems, reviewing and ensuring accuracy of shipping and receiving documents.
- Strong understanding of commercial food processing and food packaging equipment will be helpful.
