Position Description:
The Formulator is responsible for developing new products within the nutritional supplement industry. This role involves creating product formulations, preparing specifications, and maintaining records and reports. The Formulator will also focus on evaluating and improving existing formulas, identifying new product opportunities, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges, and assessing new raw materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design custom formulas based on current research and studies for existing and prospective customers.
- Revise and enhance existing formulas to reflect cost changes and the latest scientific developments.
- Collaborate with sales teams during customer meetings and assist in preparing quotes.
- Establish and review specifications for both raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain external contacts for information exchange on manufacturing technologies and industry advancements.
- Additional duties as assigned to meet company and departmental objectives.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety and quality standards in line with company procedures (SOPs).
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
- A degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field, with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in product formulation, development, and regulatory processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical technology, chemistry, and/or chemical engineering.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment for oral solid dosage forms (immediate and extended-release).
- Understanding of regulatory requirements, including cGMPs.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluent English.
