PAYROLL / BILLING ANALYST JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Payroll & Billing Analyst will be part of our finance department and will be responsible for processing and reviewing payroll / billing data with regards to inefficiencies and errors for our field employees on a weekly basis. The position will be verifying whether all amounts are accurate based on hours worked and ensuring payments are made on time. The Payroll & Billing analyst serves as a main point of contact for our internal sales and operations departments and external customers on billing and payroll related inquiries. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent analytical skills with the ability to spot numerical errors.

PAYROLL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Review timesheets and attendance records and correct inaccuracies

· Enter all necessary paperwork for NYPFL, garnishments, and local taxes

· Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records

· Report to management on payroll issues and changes.

· Answer employee questions about compensation and tax

· Stay up to date on state and federal payroll and tax laws

BILLING RESPONSIBILITIES

· Create and distribute monthly invoices for our contractually-based Outsourcing clients

· Create and distribute ad-hoc ancillary invoices for overtime and other ancillary billing

· Calculate Outsourcing commissions

· Prepare deferred revenue, revenue accrual, & commission accrual entries for month-end close

· Post cash receipts on a daily basis

· Prepare & file sales tax

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure billing accuracy

· Address and research customer inquiries

· Manage external billing related inquiries and customer escalations daily, while serving as an internal resource for customers invoicing and contract questions

· Work on financial projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred

· Must have payroll and billing processing experience (2+ years)

· Ability to work in an extremely fast paced, high volume business

· Must be deadline & detailed oriented and have organizational skills

· Proficient in Excel and Word

· Possess excellent written and oral communication skills

· Knowledge in Salesforce, PaychexFlex, JobScience, Accounting Seed Systems a plus

· HR experience a plus
