The Environmental Specialist is responsible for coordination of environmental/regulatory issues regarding air, water, hazardous waste disposition, environmental reports and communications with regulatory agencies. Develops, implements and maintains procedures and programs to minimize environmental risks.

Responsibilities:

• Read, understand, and provide council on foreign, federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to product safety, labeling, and environmental issues.
• Assist lab projects on EHS related tasks.
• Assigning raw material codes and entering raw materials into the production software (Deacom).
• Creating SDS and labels for products.
• Maintaining raw material and product code systems.
• Assisting customers with environmental data about our products.
• Assisting the EHS Manager and Safety Coordinators.
• Spill Response Team Coordinator.
• Implementation of the Emergency Response Plan.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma (GED equivalent) with a bachelor's degree preferred. Knowledge of Chemistry or prior employment in EHS a plus. Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to lead and motivate employees in environmental and safety related tasks.
